STORYBOARD AND VIDEO
Developing a storyboard and producing an instructional video to meet a Specific Learning Objective
Design scenario: During LDTX200, I designed and began to develop the Family Phonics Project, an online module designed to prepare parents and carers to confidently support their child's learning in phonics. For part of this module, I need to develop a storyboard for a short video introducing graphemes. The finished video should take account of design principles and cognitive principles for multimedia learning and style and content should be cohesive with the overall design and feel of the module.
Learning Objective: After watching this video, a learner should be able to:
-
Define the word grapheme
-
Articulate the role of learning phoneme-grapheme pairs in learning to read and write.

Media Type: An original instructional video, 2-4 minutes in length, in a format suitable for sharing on You Tube and/or embedding to an mobile friendly website

The Tools: The storyboard was created in MS Word and builds on a PowerPoint resource I had previously developed as a template for the course. The finished video was made using Powtoon.
